Stumpd is a sensor suite build for Plymouth City Council, which is intended to measure the amount of public use of the green spaces within Plymouth and surrounding areas.
A sensor unit would be triggered once a member of the public walked passed it tripping a PIR sensor, resulting in the incrementation of a counter and logging of time. After a period of time, this data would be extracted and visualised to provide insight.
Battery life, the sensors units needed to be left in the field for weeks at a time. This required the use of an Arduino Sleep Library to provide operation time between 3-4 weeks from 4 AA batteries.
